In DMR there are two types of contacts to consider. There is the contact database that you can download. This is a list of call signs, names, and locations. You can also create your own contacts by using a name and DMR ID. You can then associate a name with a zone like “ARES team” or “Cycling event.” You associate a frequency, bandwidth, time slot, and color code with the contact so communication happens.
